    I am so happy I found this video I’m close to tears writing this comment. I am a relatively new camper and initially started out with borrowed tents and then bought my own second hand tent that still cost me a packet but it isn’t suitable for me. I’m disabled and struggle with sleep in the comfort of my own home and when I’m camping or at a festival I can’t to keep up with my friends and loved ones as I’m pushing my body past its limits and then not having an opportunity to properly sleep and recover before starting the next day. I always sleep with eye masks and ear plugs but they shift and move so I get disturbed by sunlight and heat easily and in the blazing heat can’t even use my tent to nap in during the day and recuperate if I’ve tapped out and my friends have gone on ahead without me. I’ve just spent the last 2 months desperately trying to get a blackout tent for a cheap price and not having any luck and instead of looking forward to my first (and currently only) camping trip of the year I AM DREADING IT. I intentionally have not booked any further trips because I am scared of running my body into the ground with lack of sleep. Now with this video I finally have an easy, affordable solution that will be an absolute game changer and I truly cannot thank you enough. I cannot wait to try this and will be back to tell you the results. I really do think this will make camping more accessible for me which will mean I can try attending more events and trips. It took my body close to a month to recover from one of last year’s trip, which is why I haven’t planned for more than one this year. I was close to tears when starting this message and am fully overwhelmed at the end as I really believe this will be life changing for me. I couldn’t be more grateful, thank you ❤

      That's why I use liquid ptfe. You can just tighten it up until it's a 90° then leave it to set. If you use ptfe tape then that is the problem you have described!

    If anyone watches this and it doesn't work ... I have a solution. This exact model of toilet. The toilet was constantly flushing, and I knew this behaviour from another toilet - the diaphragm was ruptured ... a £5 fix But, why was the previous diaphragm ruptured? I couldn't care. I replaced the part and it seemed to work fine ... for one day Maybe I hadn't put it in right? I tried again - and it seemed to be fine. And then it happened again ... And again ... And again ... ... Eventually, I took the decision to remove the intake valve and inspect it - the UA-cam plumbers suggested a simple twist to the left - and off we go ... It didn't work - I twisted to the right and left, and even did the jitterbug ... eventually, it just came off in my hand ... I still don't know how. I inspected the pipe - and my face fell flat on the floor ... A large piece of grit had lodged itself in the tube (that's what's in my water supply!) Even when I had dislodged it previously, and all seemed to be normal, water pressure made it block the tube again. And when it did, the water pressure that escaped around it was so high that it was impossible for the valve to close and stop the toilet continuously filling. A piece of grit in the pipe. No problems since. Hope that helps somebody.

    • @FixitwithFowler
      @FixitwithFowler День тому

      Thanks for your in-depth comment. It's strange to have grit in your cold water supply. Have you had any work done recently or work in the street that could affect the water supply? The only reason I ask is because the same grit could be entering your boiler, and that is definitely something you don't want to happen.

    • @jazzx251
      @jazzx251 День тому

      @@FixitwithFowler Nobody has invaded our water supply since we moved in 10 years ago. The only serious plumbing work we had done was a new boiler, about 5 years ago. The previous one broke down due to water flooding its system We were without hot water for 2 weeks during that winter - mainly because Haart lettings, the agent, pretended to fix the problem and case closed, when all they had done was sent a plumber round to assess the damage. Eventually - even after their fibs about how they had informed the Landlady and were just waiting to hear back from her ... ... the landlady did actually hear about how she might probably need to fork out for a new boiler ... ... she sent her OWN plumber round - and he was superb. I saw him talking to her on the phone ... "yeah - the boiler's gone. They've been without hot water for two weeks!" She instructed her plumber to tell me to bypass Haart completely - and directly come to him if it happened again. But I don't think that's where the grit came from. We suffer from low water pressure - and the guy that came around to change our kitchen taps earlier this year remarked that even hot water was low pressure, suggesting something wrong in the boiler We got through the winter ok - but when the radiators come on, it smells like steaming smelly socks - it's horrible ,, what causes that? (I've looked - there's no smelly socks lodged down the back of any of the radiators!)

    • @FixitwithFowler
      @FixitwithFowler 3 дні тому

      Hi, that's quite normal for a patchy finish from a mist coat. It won't soak into that area like it does the new plaster, but there is no problem with that.

    • @leonkong8229

    • @FixitwithFowler

      You will still need two coats of non diluted emulsion on top of the mist coat. The mist coat just binds/keys into the plaster so the undiluted emulsion can key to the mist coat.

    I bought the karcher you've demonstrated last year. Mine came with a separate long handle which made it much easier to use (think of vacuuming a carpet). In my opinion, the wand took much longer so my preference is the round attachment. My patio has white porcelain tiles and they came out beautifully with just water. I've also used it on my brick paved driveway, I'd say it works better on tiles over bricks but I wouldn't be without it now. I bought it at Screwfix when it was on a special offer.

      No, it's not sponsored or paid for by Wagner. It was the first time I had used the fence sprayer, and I did think the filling of the container was going to end in disaster! I've now got a wide mouth funnel, and I now water the paint down by about 10% as this cuprinol ducksback I use is not sprayable, so the paint is really thick! I am genuinely really pleased with the fence sprayer and only post honest tool reviews.

      Oh right, the instructions that come with the Makita hedge trimmer state 10mm cutting diameter, but I'm sure it could manage thicker bits. Thanks for your comments!

      Hi, unfortunately, the starter kit is not available from amazon at the moment. They have a good deal at Wickes, and the starter kit is £50.
